Mission Statement
The Philip H. Corboy Foundation exists to promote scholarship, justice, human dignity and an enhanced quality of life for people, consistent with the example of the life, work and charitable giving of Philip H. Corboy, Sr. To accomplish its mission, the Philip H. Corboy Foundation:
Recognizing the debt of gratitude that Philip H. Corboy owes to the educational institutions and the legal system of Chicago for his success as a lawyer and his ability to engage in philanthropy, preference shall be given to requests made to the Foundation by individuals, institutions, and organizations from metropolitan Chicago.
- Provides scholarships to support secondary and higher education for individuals who show evidence of need, a record of scholastic achievement or who can demonstrate that barriers to learning may be overcome by such assistance;
- Provides grants to educational institutions or other organizations to support programs, or educators dedicated to the service of the disabled, the injured, the poor or to those whose quality of life may be in jeopardy due to illness, addiction, injury or adverse economic circumstances;
- Provides grants to individuals, institutions or organizations whose work is dedicated to enhancing the social, medical, education or cultural life of others;
- Provides grants to individuals, institutions or organizations dedicated to preserving the right of access to the justice system for individuals who have suffered injury or for any individual whose legal rights may be in jeopardy of being restricted, curtailed or otherwise denied.
